Understanding

This Is Me

Real stories from real people in Belfast communities building connection through shared humanity

Origins

A campaign built on listening to Belfast

This Is Me began with a simple question: what happens when we truly listen to one another? In Belfast, where divisions have long run deep, we believed that the most powerful tool for change was not argument but story. Real people, real voices, real lives shared without filter or agenda.

Why stories matter in Belfast

In a changing Belfast, fear and stereotypes divide us. This is Me challenges that by sharing real stories of overcoming discrimination through resilience, giving back to the community, bridging divides, kindness as a catalyst for change, and integration through shared passions - from Protestant, Catholic, Polish, Indian, Syrian voices and more.

Through powerful portraits, audio narratives, and 10 rotating exhibitions citywide, we invite you to listen, reflect, and connect. Replace myths with facts, build empathy, counter hate.

Together, we foster understanding, unity, and a stronger shared future. Join the conversation - beyond labels, we're one city thriving as many stories.
